Dolly Parton Imagination Library | United Way of Leavenworth County

A child's love of reading begins long before the first day of school. Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, children from birth to age five in Leavenworth County receive a free, high quality, age appropriate book delivered directly to their mailbox every month. By helping families build home libraries and encouraging parents and caregivers to read together, we're giving children the foundation they need to enter kindergarten ready to learn, grow, and succeed. Every book opens the door to stronger literacy skills, greater confidence, and a brighter future for our community.

Who Is Eligible

Every child from birth until their fifth birthday who lives in Leavenworth County is eligible to receive free books through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

There is no cost to families. Each enrolled child receives one high quality, age appropriate book delivered directly to their mailbox every month, helping build a lifelong love of reading from the very beginning.

How to Enroll

Parents and guardians are invited to enroll their children in the program by registering online HERE. Once your child's registration is received and your address is verified, books will begin arriving at your home in approximately 8 to 10 weeks. Your child will continue receiving a new book every month until their fifth birthday.
