Board Interest Form | United Way of Leavenworth County

Thank you for your interest in joining the United Way of Leavenworth County's Board of Directors. As of Fall 2026, we are not filling any vacant board positions; however, we will keep a list of interested individuals in case a position opens.

To submit an application, please first read the Board of Directors Job Description and consider whether you can commit to the responsibilities and time commitment required of a board member. These include supporting the organization in developing resources, meeting the ethical and fiduciary duties of a director, and participating in required board and committee activities.

After you have read the Board of Directors Job Description, you may complete the interest form below to self-nominate. Candidates may be invited to meet with the United Way of Leavenworth County Board and Staff Representatives for an informal interview.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Attend board meetings, which take place the 4th Tuesday of each month beginning at 8:00 a.m. at our office in Lansing, KS.
Understand the mission and values of UWLVCO and use them in decision-making.
Support UWLVCO with an annual financial contribution within the level of your ability.
Participate on one additional committee annually.
Advocate for the organization within your spheres of influence.
