Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Some of the most important moments happen while families are walking, talking, playing, and exploring together.
The Born Learning Trail is a series of 10 interactive signs designed to turn an ordinary walk into a fun learning adventure. Each stop encourages parents, grandparents, and caregivers to engage children through simple activities that build early literacy, language, movement, problem solving, and social skills, all while enjoying the outdoors.
In partnership with the Basehor Kiwanis Club, United Way of Leavenworth County is excited to bring the county's first Born Learning Trail to Basehor in Fall 2026. This free community resource will provide families with a fun and meaningful way to learn through play while strengthening connections between children and the adults who care for them.
Because every child deserves opportunities to learn wherever they are, we hope this is just the beginning. We would love to see Born Learning Trails expand into additional communities throughout Leavenworth County.
